This handcrafted birch bark storage container is made by Atikamekw artist Yvan Petiquay from the community of Manawan. Each container is skillfully stitched using traditional lacing techniques, reflecting generations of craftsmanship and a deep respect for natural materials.

Birch bark containers have long been used throughout Atikamekw and other northern Indigenous communities to store teas, medicines, berries, sewing supplies, and small personal belongings.
