Ribbon Skirts
Ribbon skirts hold deep cultural and spiritual significance for many Cree women and girls. They are often worn during ceremonies, celebrations, gatherings, and special occasions as an expression of identity, pride, and connection to culture. While styles and meanings can vary between communities and families, ribbon skirts are widely recognized as symbols of strength, resilience, womanhood, and respect for Indigenous traditions.
Today, ribbon skirts continue to be worn as a celebration of Cree culture and a way to honour the teachings, stories, and generations of women who came before. They represent both cultural continuity and the vibrant living traditions of Cree people.
