These one-of-a-kind lapel pins are handcrafted by Nalakwisis Mukash of Whapmagoostui, Eeyou Istchee. Inspired by the distinctive shape of a caribou track, each pin is meticulously beadworked by hand and mounted on a silver-tone lapel pin with a secure clutch backing.
The caribou holds deep significance in Eeyou culture, symbolizing survival, resilience, and a profound connection to the land. For generations, caribou have sustained Eeyou communities through food, clothing, tools, and cultural traditions, reflecting a relationship built on respect, stewardship, and gratitude. The vibrant colour combinations and intricate beadwork make every pin a unique expression of Cree artistry and craftsmanship.
