These handcrafted moosehide mittens are made by Cree sewing teacher Isabell Jonah Weistche of Waskaganish. Crafted from warm golden-brown tanned moosehide, they feature a wide beaver fur cuff, hand-cut fringe, and a detailed embroidered Canada goose motif inspired by the land and wildlife of Eeyou Istchee.
The natural texture of the moosehide, traditional fringe work, and richly contrasting fur make this pair both functional and distinctive. Each pair is handmade, giving it its own individual character and finish.
