Beaded Bear Paw Medallion Necklace

A hand-beaded bear paw medallion by Cree artist Melina Neeposh of Mistissini. The paw is stitched bead by bead onto a round piece of smoked moosehide, with a floral design worked into the palm, and the whole edge is finished in gold beads.

The medallion hangs from a long double strand of seed beads, spaced with cream hairpipe beads, faceted bronze crystals, small white pearl beads and gold accents. On the back, two moosehide loops hold the strand in place, and the necklace closes with a gold-tone lobster clasp.

• Red & Black: red bead strand; paw outlined in red and gold with black claws; yellow leaves, an orange bud and white scrolling vines on the palm
• Bronze & Gold: bronze bead strand; paw outlined in bronze with tan toe pads and gold claws edged in green; a white bugle-bead bud, plum leaves, green vines and a peach crystal flower on the palm

Care

Keep dry and away from perfume and lotion. Store flat so the medallion keeps its shape.
