Detail
A miniature snow shovel hand-carved by Cree artist Gordon H. Blackned of Waskaganish. The wide blade is carved with a hollowed scoop and painted, the handle is left in natural wood, and the tip of the handle is painted to match the blade.
Wooden snow shovels have long been carved and used across Eeyou Istchee to clear snow around camp and down to the ice in winter. This little replica hangs from a string tied around the handle, so it can hang from a hook, a rear-view mirror or a tree.
Colour Options
Grey: grey blade and handle tip
Red: red blade and handle tip
Blue: blue blade and handle tip
The hanging string colour varies and may not match the shovel, and string length varies from piece to piece.
