Each paddle in this collection is carved from cedar wood and hand-painted by Cree artist Peter Simard Jr. of Oujé-Bougoumou. The front of each paddle carries a painted woodland scene, while the back features its own hand-stained geometric pattern, and the grip is finished with a carved detail unique to that piece.
These are decorative pieces, meant for display rather than use on the water. Because each one is painted, stained and carved individually, no two are exactly alike.
