PRODUCT DETAILS

This handcrafted flying tamarack bird decoy is made using traditional Cree methods from tightly woven tamarack twigs.

Tamarack decoys like this one have a long history in Cree and other Indigenous cultures of northern Canada. Originally used as functional duck decoys placed on the water during hunting, their natural materials blended perfectly with the landscape. Today, they are celebrated as cultural artworks and decorative pieces, symbolizing a deep connection between craftsmanship, traditional knowledge, and the land.
