Moosehide Gauntlets

Gauntlet mittens hand-sewn by Martha Sheshamush of Whapmagoostui from soft, golden moosehide and lined with warm Sherpa fleece. The long cuffs reach well past the wrist to keep out snow and wind, and are finished with brown trim and rust-coloured fringe that moves with every step.

The cuff carries an eagle embroidered by hand in brown, grey and white thread. A knitted black and white yarn cord joins the pair and is worn around the neck, so you can slip the mittens off without losing one or setting it down in the snow.

Care

Keep dry where possible. If the mittens get wet, let them air dry at room temperature away from direct heat, then work the hide gently with your hands to keep it soft. Do not machine wash.
