Detail
A miniature paddle hand-carved by Cree artist Gordon H. Blackned of Waskaganish. The rounded blade is painted, the shaft is left in natural wood, and the grip at the top is painted to match the blade.
Paddles have carried Cree families by canoe along the rivers and lakes of Eeyou Istchee for generations. This little replica hangs from a string tied around the shaft, so it can hang from a hook, a rear-view mirror or a tree.
Colour Options
Green: green blade and grip
Red: red blade and grip
The hanging string colour varies and may not match the paddle, and string length varies from piece to piece.
